“Thorp Physical Therapy” opened in a tiny commercial building on the North end of Thorp, WI. With the slogan “small clinic, big results”, the company began taking new patients in February, 2003. Since then, the company has grown to 4 outpatient clinics serving the communities of Thorp, Augusta, Chetek and Eau Claire.
In 2014 the decision was made to change our company name to Dunamis Therapy & Fitness. Dunamis (Doo – nu – mis) is the Greek word for “strength, power, the ability to achieve”. The name Dunamis represents our goal of assisting those who need strength, whether a fitness member working on a performance goal or a patient in physical therapy recovering from knee surgery. We exist to serve our communities, helping community members find strength through physical therapy and fitness.
Dunamis is owned by Larry and Laura Hickok, both life-long Wisconsin residents. Dunamis is proud to be a privately owned, local company offering the latest therapy treatment methods along with modern fitness equipment. Larry and Laura are committed to the communities they serve and to their Faith, Family and Fitness.
